FOOD SENSITIVE FRIENDLY SWEETS
Hi everyone! Welcome back to The Dairy Free Diaries! I hope you guys had a great week and are excited for this blog post. I decided to change up this week’s topics to food sensitivities, which I haven’t talked about in a bit. Nonetheless, this is a blog post that those with sensitive stomachs will love. But before, that let’s do a weekly check in.
One word- Uncomfortable: This week was uncomfortable but in the best way possible. I felt extremely challenged this week, and when I prevailed, I was proud of myself.
In the past, I chose to live a very comfortable life because it was the easiest option. I was content with staying the same because I found myself afraid of what could change. But now I have completely switched my mindset to searching out for the unknown.
Because that is how you grow as a person. The decisions and changes I have made have not been easy, but they are completely worth it.
I can say that I am no longer the person I was a year ago because I started doing things that made me uncomfortable. It was comfortable to wake up early, workout, make healthy eating choices, change the way I looked at life, etc.
But if I hadn’t made those changes, I would still be the old version of myself. And all of these little uncomfortable decisions have added up. Uncomfortable has become the new normal for me and I can say that this reality brings me a lot of peace.
One low point- Struggling to stick to my habits: Not going to lie, this week was harder than most. I found it extremely difficult to stick to my routines and the plan I set for myself.
There was nothing different than last week, I just felt more resistance. I felt the temptation to go back to my old ways and it was very hard not to. But I just kept repeating this mantra of sorts “Nothing good is ever easy” and it really helped me to push through.
The more I said that mantra, the more I realized that I was making excuses as to why I couldn’t stick to the habits I was trying to form.
And I think this is an important lesson because there is a common belief that life is supposed to be easy and perfect. This is far from the truth. Life is never going to be easy when you are trying to grow into a new version of yourself.
The only way to change your lifestyle is to break up with your old one. And during this, you are going to be tempted to fall backwards, but those moment truly show exactly who you are.
Are you someone who will take the easy route to stay the same, or are you someone who will take the more difficult route in order to grow? And that is what I keep asking myself and it has helped me immensely when I find myself thinking about going back on my promises.
One high point- Significantly lowering my social media time: This was a big high point of my week because it was one of my weekly goals that I have met.
I had noticed that in the past weeks, I would find myself going on my phone when I was bored and this was something I wanted to change. So, I made a list of all the activities that I could do instead of going on social media.
Some of them being, painting, drawing, yoga, stretching, reading, writing, meditating, or going for a walk. And after making this list, it made me much more excited for this goal.
And it honestly helped me to be able to choose other activities instead of social media. And mentally, I feel so much clearer.
I used to get headaches sometimes because I was on my phone for too long, which completely went away once I limited it. This week was a great start to finding the balance when it comes to social media usage.
